Eagles

Hey guys today we will meet the king of the sky. The awesomely powerful, huge and one of the fastest bird The Eagle.

Features:
  • Weight                      Due to the great number of species the weight ranges from anywhere                                        between 500 gms to 6.5 Kgms.
  • Length                      Their length is between 45 cms to 1 meters.
The name Eagle is deprived from the Latin term Aquila by the way of the french Aigle.

Eagle is well known for perfect controlled flight, its strength and its size. The golden eagle is so powerful that it can crush a human head as easily as a human can crush an egg with their hands. Even the smallest Eagle species the Booted Eagles are the  larger stronger and faster then most of the other birds.

Eagles build their nests (called eyries) on either tall trees, high cliffs, etc. An eagle lays two eggs but usually the stronger or the older chick eats the smaller or weaker sibling.

Like all birds of prey Eagles too have a very powerful hooked beaks, strong muscular legs and claws also called Talons. Eagles have a very keen eyesight even at their fastest speed they can locate even a mouse from a long distance. This is due to their extremely large pupils which causes minimum scattering of the incoming light.

Other Animals: Elephants, Blue Whale.

Elephants

Hey guys today we will meet a huge terrestrial mammal, awesomely powerful and respected as well as feared by all living things including humans, the Elephant.

Kingdom:Animalia
Phylum:Chordata
Subphylum:     Vertebrata
Class:Mammalia
Order:Proboscidea
Family:Elephantidae

The different species of elephants are:-
  • The African Bush Elephant,
  • African Forest Elephant and
  • The Asian Elephant (also known as Indian Elephant).
The animals are the largest land animals. Their gestation period is 22 months, the longest of any land mammal. They weigh around 120Kg at birth. They life span is around 50 to 70 years.

The elephants have appeared in various cultures. In Asia they are praised for their intelligence and wisdom
Elephant the name emerged from a Greek word.

The oldest elephant recorded was 82 years old and the largest elephant recorded was 12,000 kg with a shoulder height of 14feet taller then the average African elephant.

A healthy adult elephant has no predators but then too in the past few years their population have dramatically declined because of the humans. Its a shame to say that if the present conditions continue then the elephants will soon be extinct.
